The latest meeting of the Bradford West CDG took place on 24th January 2018 at Steeton Cricket Club. This was attended by 8 local Clubs, with a couple attending for the first time. The Group are Chaired by Shiv Krishan of Great Horton Church, who is also currently acting as Secretary. Hopefully a new secretary will be found soon!
The Group discussed a number of key issues for local Clubs, including: Cricket Education Courses and subsidies available for local Clubs who are members of the Group, and a report from the YCB's Steve Coultard covered progress with Chance to Shine, "All Stars" Cricket, Grant Funding possibilities, Women & Girls Cricket, with each Club also summarising how they were getting on with the developments in their own clubs and issues they were trying to overcome. One of the key functions of the Group is share experiences and help each other. In that respect there was a discussion about the demise of a number of Clubs in the area and some of the ways in which problems facing clubs may be overcome. There are lessons to be learned!

All Clubs in the area are welcome to attend meetings, and benefit from subsidy support for cricket education for players, coaches in the clubs as well as receiving support, help and guidance form the other local clubs who attend the meetings.
Further meetings are being planned in 2018 for June and September, with another meeting after Christmas in janaury 2019.
